That saw the commencement of a company which had come to stay. A move was made to works at Taumati district (Mongkok), and there the company has been ever since. Early in 1922 it was sold by the shareholders (one of them, who was also a director, was Sir Paul Chater) to Mr. Leung Entin, who had been the cashier of the concern for twelve years, and Mr. Fung Tat-hong (otherwise known as F. McGinnes), one time compradore of the Hongkong Hotel. The "Ltd." was dropped, the business becoming a private company, and being merged with the Hongkong Hotel's operations.
In autumn that same year there was another change of the ownership, the Hotel selling out, and the present proprietors have remained in control since then. Mr. W. W. Hirst, who had been with the Hongkong Hotel Co., was transferred to the Steam Laundry in 1922 when the first change of proprietorship took place, and has remained as manager ever since.
